Matthew is increasingly known for his efforts to redefine the American interior design aesthetic using architecture and design influences that reflect his global awareness of timeless style and sophisticated living. Frederick and his team have received international acclaim and recognition for his design work, most recently having one of his projects featured in the 2016 May/June issue of Architectural Digest India, the November 2015 US Architectural Digest Annual Before & After Issue, being ranked as one of The World's Top 100 Designers by the London-based Andrew Martin Interior Design Review published in 2017 by TuNeues, and partnering with ESCADA to produce design elements for their flagship retail installation in New York in recognition of the brand's 35th Anniversary.

Matthew’s emphasis on quality extends through every detail of a project, from the initial design to the final execution, and is reflected in his completed projects and eponymous product assortment. A master curator, he thoughtfully composes a unique home true to its owners. Layering art, integrating collections, and above all editing and mixing ingredients like heirlooms, books and personal touches, his concepts make for a comfortable haven whether the aesthetic is modern or traditional.

A life-long East Coast resident, Matthew Frederick has always been attuned to the beauty of a well-appointed home, and the pleasure that comes along with being comfortable in such a space. This “Elegant Living for Everyday Life” has been his hallmark ever since he launched his eponymous firm in 2001, and it continues to be his ethos in all of his interiors work.

With offices in New York City, New Jersey and Los Angeles, he has a dedicated team close to Connecticut, the Hamptons, Washington D.C. and most of Western Europe. He is often at work on projects throughout the United States as well as abroad. The firm's portfolio includes projects in Manhattan, the Hamptons, Palm Beach, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Chicago, Russia, and France.

Since the inception of M. Frederick Design, Matthew's products, projects, and insight have been featured in the pages of Architectural Digest, AD India, Elle Decor, Traditional Home, The Wall Street Journal, Interior Design, LUXE interiors + design, The Interior Design Review, Martha Stewart Living, and Living Spaces magazine in Russia.
